Sheraton Chair

Reference No:

RL.235 and RL.235/A

Thomas Sheraton (1751-1806) was renowned as the greatest English furniture maker of the late 18th century, and lent his name to an entire style. In contrast to the towering figures of Thomas Chippendale and George Hepplewhite from earlier in the Georgian era, Sheraton furniture was characterised by a more delicate, refined aesthetic.

A faithful recreation of a timeless classic, our handcrafted Sheraton chairs display the rectangular spindled backs, elegant curves and restrained ornamental touches typical of original pieces. What is more, in keeping with the finest traditions of British furniture making, our expert craftsmen use techniques and skills that would have been familiar to the master himself.

Sturdily built out of that most important of 18th century timbers, mahogany, our Sheraton chairs are available in two colours – standard and mellow mahogany. They can be purchased armless, or with the eye-catching curved arms that made the Sheraton style so influential.
