Elm Kitchen

Elm Kitchen:
This kitchen was a particularly unusual and exciting project to be involved with. The customer requested an exquisite kitchen which would sit elegantly within the repurposed drawing room, whilst reflecting and complimenting the myriad of fabulous existing architectural details.
They felt that this kitchen should be a work of art in itself.
In order to achieve this we were able to use our knowledge and skills of replicating Georgian and Regency furniture. This heritage gave us the opportunity to design the kitchen based around the break fronted bookcases that have been some of our signature pieces over the past 100 years.
Our unique approach and knowledge of the Georgian era meant that we had the skills to create a kitchen that sits comfortably within this listed building. We felt it really important to extenuate the beauty of the elm and to this end we used book matched cluster elm veneers throughout. Whilst visually stunning, the kitchen also needed to be a practical workspace, and to this end we have hidden an array of modern equipment throughout the cabinets, including a dishwasher, fridge and warming drawer.
To complete the look our client chose book matched marble as a worksurface and splashback and a stylish handmade brass breakfast bar at one end of the island.
The perfect space to gather and chat over a glass or two, whilst the “chef” cooks up a storm!
We were also tasked with designing and building a integrated drinks cabinet, nestled in an alcove within the same room. Behind original doors, sits an elm veneered cabinet, housing all the essentials needed to rustle up a delicious cocktail. The warmth of the elm is complemented by the book matched marble splashback and top. By using the same design principles with this piece we were able to create a sense of seamlessness across the whole space.
