High summer sunshine: the enemy of the photographer and so it was when the uber-talented Andrew Montgomery came to photograph our workshops and sawmills in Suffolk.
Our sawmills, where we dry, cut and season our oak before it goes to our workshop is open to the elements, which on July 3rd meant glaring sunshine making everything look a bit washed out.
So we waited… and waited… and waited… and finally at about 9.30pm our wood piles and logs finally looked as good on film (well, digital capture) as they do in the flesh.
