Lovingly recreated in the elegant Georgian style, this beautiful antique mahogany sideboard demonstrates both the skill and appreciation of heritage our expert furniture makers pride themselves in.
Following in the tradition of master craftsman like Thomas Chippendale and George Hepplewhite, this piece is modelled on a typical 18th century dining room sideboard with a cutlery drawer and twin cellaret cupboards. The straight neo-classical lines, low relief ornamentation and panelling detail are all faithful recreations of the styles fashionable in the era.
The use of mahogany is another authentic 18th century touch. First imported to Britain in bulk in the 1700s, mahogany became the timber of choice for cabinet makers owing to its durability and attractive reddish-brown colour, perfectly demonstrated in the beautiful grain patterns visible on this piece. Our antique mahogany sideboard is available in two wood colours, standard mahogany and the lighter, yellow-tinged mellow mahogany.
